Five Steps to Happiness

Reverend Barbara Leger, a recent guest on "New Dimensions," spoke about the wisdom of a 92 year old man. Many listeners asked for us to repeat the five simple, but profound steps he discovered that will lead to living a more happy life. (Program 3255)

They are: free your heart from hatred, free your mind from worry, live simple, give more, expect less.

I felt it was interesting that he talks about the emotion of hatred as emanating from the heart, but worry as coming from the mind.  I find that deeply held emotions like love and hate are physically felt in the heart.  I also experience worry as something that is exclusively beamed out from my thought processor (some call the mind).

Just a few thoughts that have come to me lately----How to live successfully-----Be awake, be grateful and breath deeply. Be awake shows the path on which to walk.  Be grateful takes care of the self, the neighbor and all creation.  In order to be awake and grateful in this world we need to take care of the body which means breathing deeply.  The consequences flowing from these three is ones life.  The most important is gratefulness---some call it love and other names.       Lawrence
